BWDS have a team of NSRA qualified leaders to run the range for you in accordance with POR and all legislation.

Note: BWDS do not run Archery for young Cubs, Beavers or Squirrels as we do not believe they have the physical capability to get the most from the activity.

Locations

Permanent Range

A Rifle range can be set up at Brighton Hill Scout Group HQ and Baughurst HQ where BWDS are fortunate to have a permanent air rifle/pistol ranges.

Please ensure that you have booked the HQ before booking a shooting session. (Current charge £5 per hour).

Portable Range

We have a portable range that can be set up at a location of your choice subject to permission and suitability. Once a request is received, the Air Rifle team will discuss the location with you before confirmation is given.

Permission

All youth members must have parent/guardian permission to take part in an Air Rifle session. Rifle shooting is subject to legislation and ALL shooters will need to make a declaration on the shooting permission form before they will be allowed to shoot.

The BWDS – Combined Activity Consent Form should be completed by the parent/guardian of all participants and handed to the activity instructors at the start of the session. Note: This form can also be used for Archery and Tomahawk Throwing.

Cost

A small charge of £1.50 per person is made for each session in order to maintain equipment and targets. The BWDS Leader team work voluntarily and may request additional expenses (such as travel costs) which would be included in overall cost to you and discussed before hand.
